The best part of the sandwich was the Hawaiian roll. Dill pickle slices would have added to the overall flavor of the sandwich. Once again, not bad, but it could be better. Instead, there were pickle slices that were so plain, they were more like cucumber slices. They didn't say that to us, but unsurprisingly, there was no slaw on the sandwich. We heard them tell someone who ordered after us they just ran out of slaw for the sandwiches. The breading tasted good, but it wasn't crispy, as it should be with fried chicken. It wasn't bad per se, but was firmer than we're used to when biting and chewing fried chicken breast. Maybe it was the buttermilk or the brine, but the buttermilk fried chicken had a strange consistency. It doesn't say on the menu, but lunch also came with a small order of fries on the side. ![]() The "Finger Licking Good" is made with buttermilk fried chicken, house-made slaw, pickles and ranch dressing on a Hawaiian roll. For our first visit to the Sandwich Bar Express, we got the fried chicken sandwich, called the "Finger Licking Good" on the menu (how original) for $10. They told us their most popular dish is the Chipotle BBQ Turkey sandwich, but we've had a BBQ sandwich just last week. The truck seems to have been around for at least a little while, but we were told this was their first day parked on 52nd St just west of 6th Ave. Upon further investigation, this appears to be where they park the truck, not physical locations. The Sandwich Bar Express truck has locations in Jersey City, Hoboken and Newark, as well as NYC.
